In July 2006, we took a trip to the Olympic Peninsula.  Sandy was in Vancouver (Washington) on a work trip, so Steve drove out to Portland to meet up with her.  From there we drove up to Olympia, to check out Bayside Quilting. one of her favorite online quilt shops.  Then we continued up to Port Angeles.  Using that as a base, we spent a day visiting the annual Lavender Festival in nearby Sequim (pronounced "skwimm").  There was a street fair in Sequim with vendors that had every possible product based on a lavender theme: tshirts, pictures, soap, lotion, ice cream, jelly.  If it was there, it was purple and lavender flavored.  After the craft fair, we toured some of the local lavender farms and a local winery or two.  By the end of the day, the car was loaded!

Lots of stuff to buy.  Good thing Sandy brought a sherpa.

There was even more stuff when we toured the local lavender farms
